Campus Connections

Campus Connections word mark

Schedule

Youth are scheduled with Campus Connections one night a week Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm

3:45pm-4:00pm Youth Check in
Youth are expected to arrive slightly before or promptly at 4:00pm to greet mentors, sign in and sign up for the nightly activities. For the success of our program it is important that all of the youth arrive on time.

4:00pm-4:30pm Walk and Talk
Walk and Talk is a program set up for mentor families, groups of four mentors and mentees, to walk around campus and familiarize themselves with the college campus. The mentor families will head out different walks each week that are meant to familiarize everyone with the college campus and everything it has to offer. Once arriving at the destination there are several questions for the youth to answers while learning about opportunities college has to offer. This time is also important for mentors to catch up with the youths about the past week’s events.

4:30pm-5:30pm Supporting School Successng>
Supporting School Success is individualized tutoring for youth with their mentor. Youth are expected to bring homework or GED prep material every night to work on. If the youth has absolutely no homework mentors can work on study skills, goal-setting, career planning, college planning, time management, and how to access resources.

5:30pm-6:00pm Dinner
Dinner is generously provided by The Larimer Country Food Bank free-of-charge and is enjoyed every night with mentors and their mentor family.

6:00pm-7:00pm and 7:00pm-8:00pm Pro-Social Activities
The remainder of the evening is broken into two one-hour blocks where mentors and mentees engage in a variety of pro-social activities. Through art projects, cooking classes, sports, dance, yoga, and more, our goal is to equip youth with niches, hobbies, and skills which prepare them to give back to the community, growing in personal confidence.

We encourage parents to come into the Campus Connections between 7:30pm and 8:00pm so that you can meet your child’s mentor and the faculty who run the Campus Connections program and see what we are all about. We also will send you a progress report each night to keep you informed of and involved in what your child is doing in the program.

Campus Connections ends at 8:00pm each week so please plan on being here by then to pick up your youth or have another arrangement for them to get home.
